BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. David Dieu is a highly accomplished, dual-degreed, board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Raised in Southern California, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine.

After completing dental school, Dr. Dieu was accepted into the rigorous six-year MD-integrated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. During this time, he also completed a general surgery residency and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

Dr. Dieu’s unique dual-degree background as both a DMD and MD provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the human body, with specialized expertise in the oral and maxillofacial region. His training encompasses all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including orthognathic surgery, general anesthesia and IV sedation, dental implants and bone grafting, management of oral pathology, cosmetic procedures, repair of oral-facial trauma, and traditional dentoalveolar surgery.

Currently, Dr. Dieu serves as an active clinical attending at ChristianaCare Hospital’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he contributes to the training of future oral surgeons and holds admitting privileges for patients requiring hospitalization or operating room procedures.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dieu is an avid cook and enjoys bicycling. He is also a proud parent of three beautiful children.
